TMJ & Craniomandibular Appliances

A range of appliances designed by Dr. Darick Nordstrom to be used in conjunction with the ALF (Advanced Lightwire Functional appliance) philosophy. The basic ALF appliance is a laser welded removable/fixed appliance using closely adapted cribs, which should be retained in the mouth with composite ledges to prevent the patient from removing the appliance.

Very small and easy for the patient to wear, these appliances avoid locking up the maxilla in a block of acrylic, thereby allowing the cranial sutures to assume their natural posture. Used in conjunction with cranial manipulations, they allow for a more permanent dental result and aid in the elimination of multiple dysfunctions.

These versatile appliances can be used in virtually any configuration you can visualise – they can be made with twin blocks, lip bumpers, single and twin cribs and even with buccal tubes to be used in conjunction with brackets.

Splints

 

We make a wide range of fully CAD/CAM splints accurately milled to the practitioner’s specifications to fit occlusion.
